Ben’s Journey *
Benjamin Christopher Lawler
1977 - 2024
Ben Lawler passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024 at the age of 46 after a courageous seven month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Ben was born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin graduating from Tremper High School and went on to take college courses at UW Parkside. Ben and Tammy were married at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kenosha in 2002. Finding his niche’ in many facets within the construction industry. His final career choice was his proudest, opening Lawler Contracting Services, LLC with his wife, founded in 2013 and moving the home remodeling business to the Austin, TX area.
Ben loved with all his heart, had an amazing charismatic personality, some called him contagious. He loved Jesus, his wife and his family. Ben and Tammy continued successfully with the business in Texas up until Ben gained his angel wins. Tammy continues to run the business in the Austin, TX area.
Ben accomplished so much in his 46 years and touched the hearts of so many. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Bens moto was,” If It ’s Worth Doing, It’s Worth Doing Well!” Which went on to be the business slogan for Lawler Contracting Services, LLC. Ben believed in hard work and determination, treating others how you wanted to be treated.
When Ben received the news, without warning that he had stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer his first concern was about the ones he loved, not himself. A true testament to the character of an incredible man. While fighting cancer without insurance Ben and Tammy came up with a Go Fund Me to help with the accumulating medical expenses. They found that they made too much money to qualify for any assistance but not enough to pay for all the treatments for Bens cancer and their normal everyday bills. Ben said, “ I feel like we are somewhere in the middle”. We were.
So incorporating Ben’s feeling of being somewhere in the middle, his love for baseball and his desire to show the younger generation that going into the trades is a great career choice, the idea of the foundation was born. Two scholarships will be given to two-four year high school baseball players going into the trades, one in Kenosha/Racine, Wisconsin and one in Bell/Williamson County, Texas.
